The new me:
So I finally did it and cut off my long locks, but I'm not quite sure if I like how it looks. I love how it feels, but when I actually look at myself, I think "hmm, I'm not so sure about this." But oh well, it is done, and now my hair can actually dry in a reasonable amount of time.
